Blogger Crush Wednesday: Gal Meets Glam

Wednesday, July 23, 2014

Who: Julia Engel is the blogger brain and beauty behind Gal Meets Glam.

One of  my biggest inspirations when I started fashion blogging was that I wanted Julia Engel's life. Her hair, her clothes, her job, her house, her relationship with her husband... and all of this fresh out of college! I have one year until I graduate (no pressure). What girl doesn't want to mix fashion and beauty with their career!? I aspire to have quality content like her blog.. the photographs are always pristine and her style is the perfect mix of feminine and cute. Think eye-catching, simple yet glamorous, and definitely girly! She has the same style as me so I would totally steal all of her outfits!

Get her style:

Who are your blogger crushes? It's WCW so Boys and Bombshells loves to support other bloggers on this day especially!

Stay motivated, hungry, and inspired.

Style How-To: Mixing Prints

Friday, June 20, 2014

Mixing printed fabric doesn't have to be thought of as mixing oil and water. Style is a reflection of self so show off your creative and sharp mind by mastering the art of mixing prints. This post serves as an inspiration for you to be brave and creative. I put together some outfits with rich colors and eye catching prints that I think you will like!

See my wedges? I love mixing in straw and cream shoes or bags to help ground your fun prints. It's cuter than just a basic leather shoe and has character!

Try: A suave hat or woven clutch

What's your favorite way to mix prints? Comment below and I hope you liked this post! I am really getting in to the graphic design so that I can convey my content in the prettiest way to you.
Keep inspiring each other! :)

Monday Motivation + The Lust List

Monday, June 9, 2014

Good morning bombshells. About to leave for socialism class (gag) but thought i'd stop in and say hi first.

Please pardon my french but these words struck me. Writing down your dreams and goals may seem silly but once the words start flowing you can strike gold. And even if you don't it's better to be more aware of your thoughts and plans than to be oblivious. Taking extra initiatives is what sets successful people apart. You don't have to spend hours planning your life-just work on it every single day and be intentional. I promise you'll be inspired and inspiration is the fuel for us brainy bombshells.

This is an instagram worth following: The Lust List

Speaking of LUST...here are my picks for the day.

Sending you virtual peonies on this pretty day :)

3 Ingredients: Berry Beautiful Smoothie

Friday, June 6, 2014

All you need is 1 cup of Greek yogurt (Oikos Vanilla 0% Fat is what I used), 1 Cup of Orange Juice, Handful or cup of berries ( I used a frozen blend of blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries), and a Juicer- here's my Nutribullet (on sale!)

Add the juice in first, then the yogurt, and the berries. You can add more berries or juice depending on the consistency that you want. Snap the top on and blend for 2 minutes.

Voila! It's sooo good- I gave it to my friends during finals week. I love that it's really refreshing and gives me energy!

Hope you enjoy. You can also try experimenting with the fruit- sometimes I put in mango and pineapple or swap out the orange juice for grapefruit juice.

Creating something better: Boys and Bombshells

Thursday, May 8, 2014

Thank you for reading my blog! Really, every reader counts.
I am on break from school and I am really excited to be reading some books on CSS/html and creating websites and layouts (not being sarcastic- it is actually interesting to learn).

I am a perfectionist :) So i want my fashion blog to be the best and your favorite.

I am just getting started and their are bloggers who have been at this for years. The only thing I can do right now is outwork them. While I appreciate them and admire the popular bloggers, they have inspired me so much... I still want something great for myself and for others to enjoy.

One of the things that I really want is for my blog to have an impeccable layout, which is why I am rolling up my sleeves so I can design the new Boys and Bombshells for myself ( and eventually design other bloggers blogs, if they want to).

My drive for perfectionism will take some time :) So please be patient!
Also if I find out any cool tricks for blog design I will be sure to create brief tutorials and share with you! I know it can be frustrating finding information sometimes.

Thank you again for reading and subscribing to the blog.
I know you will like what is to come.

What part of your life are you seeking to change?

Statement Dresses: Up Your Game

Wednesday, May 7, 2014

You've heard of statement necklaces (hello Bauble Bar) and now it's time to roll up your sleeves and tackle statement dresses.

Who? You of course. You're a lady and you're not afraid to show it.

What? A statement dress is an embellished dress with intricate patterns, attention to detail, and perfect.

Why? You have a love for feminine features, especially intricate floral prints.

Where? Depending on your level of style. Ideally to a wedding, or event with other fashionistas who can appreciate your charm.

Statement Dress 101:

1. Pin your hair up to show of the dress.

2. Keep jewelry to a minimum, especially necklaces. Stick to a bracelet or a pretty ring.

3. For purses: a neutral cross body bag or clutch works best. Pick a small size, big purses would look awkward with this look.

4. For the most part your shoes can play up a color in the print of the dress or stick to a neutral tone. Find a classic design to channel your inner Blair Waldorf.

Saturday, April 19, 2014

This is super super exciting...Okay I had to share this with you after I saw Nordstroms tweeted that you can win $1000 gift card just by writing a product review! Since Nordstroms is one of my favorite places to shop (amazing customer service every time) and clothes with quality, I had to write a review.

I have a weekly trip to Nordstrom's Rack, which is why I am always wearing their clothing! I love a good deal.

I love the juniors department  for cute dresses and trendy pieces.

My favorite thing to wear this time of year is a romantic maxi dress ($24.80) and this Forever 21 dress is a bargain and amazing fit!

Want more floral maxi dress options? DUH You do! You can never have enough. Here are some of my favorite pretty prints right now:

Flowy Chiffon Maxi Dress ($100) from Urban Outfitters is the perfect spring blush tone.

Peach Blossom Maxi Dress ($248) from Anthropologie is so stunning! I'm definitely going to be buying this one and belting it!

A classic black shoulder bag ($21.80) from Forever 21 is a key piece that you will be thankful you bought. I couldn't believe I didn't have any black purses so I had to bite the bullet.

Like this look? Hype it on Lookbook!
And like it on Chictopia!

Sorry I have been absent the past week dolls. I have been SWAMPED at school- it's finals time for me.
Oh! And I've been trying to wear dresses everyday- people think you spend more time getting ready when you wear a dress...it just looks complete. I will share what I wore this week if you want (selfie style!)

Bombshells crush: Chriselle Lim

Monday, January 6, 2014

I think it's safe to say that Chriselle Lim understands my sense of style and then perfects it. I love the thought that goes into her looks, but they still come off as effortless. Also kudos to her photographer and editing! Beautiful scenery which is inspiring me to run away to Paris. Talk about a dream wardrobe!

Isn't she lovely?!

Home inspiration: Boho and lofty

Wednesday, January 1, 2014

I love hardwood floors and lots of natural light, white walls to keep it clean and elegant all year long.
The fun comes in with oriental rugs, furniture with a lot of personality, and interesting pieces from stores like Anthropologie.
