Boys and Bombshells Recognized As National Association of Professional Women
Monday, December 22, 2014
Hi Bombshells!
Boys and Bombshells was recognized by the National Association of Professional Women (NAPW) which is very exciting news for this blog! It is so encouraging to receive recognition for the work and dedication I have put into this blog. In my mind it has so much potential to positively empower women and lead them to be bombshells. I am proud that it received so much positive recognition even though I am a full time student. I wish I could devote all of my time to come up with really different, knowledgable posts that inspire others.
All of my followers and readers inspire me so much and help push me to make my content better. Thank you for your support!
I am off to get my hair done today! I can't decide if I want to go dark again yet. Don't you wish someone would invent something that would let us easily change our hair and not damage it?! (Besides wigs!)
Thank you again to the NAPW for your recognition.

Hello bombshells! Sorry for the lack of posting. I have been super super busy working on switching Boys and Bombshells to a new home and having bad luck! I purchased a domain because I am serious about growing this blog into something more (it is my baby!) I am a perfectionist and I know I can do better so I have been in the process of moving to Wordpress or Square Space. I spoke with a few people who advised me to Wordpress.org. I think I will have to hire someone to help me figure out what I am doing wrong because I can't get the blog and domain to link up. AH technology.
Anyways thanks for letting me vent to you and here is some of the creative process at work. I would like some more personality and to completely brand the blog. I have been having fun with the graphic design and exploring colors/fonts/textures.
More to come soon!
XO

It's the first day of school! I am excited to be super super busy-it always motivates me to work harder! I have class downtown Chicago which is a pretty cool place to study. Do you have any idea how many times I come into class with shopping bags though?! I mean Topshop is literally a block away! AH.
Okay, okay well I love this simple look and tying a flannel around your waist is a super hip way to add patterns into your outfit.
My favorite flannel patterns are from Rails:

I want to be applying a retinol cream every night even though I am young I like to do preventative things because you only get one shot with your skin and it's important to treat it right and be educated. Dermatologists actually recommend to start using anti-aging creams in your early 20's and one of the most common methods of anti-aging is applying sunscreen. Make sure you always apply it every day and don't rely on the SPF in your makeup!
Okay enough of the sunscreen talk. At night it's important to apply a cream that helps cell-turnover and elasticity. Retinol is the most powerful and effective stuff on the market and it comes at a hefty price.
Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair Serum $16 (on sale! Mine cost $20) Claims "100% of women had visible results, instantly. Instantly smoothes skin, lightweight serum, won't cause breakouts, and the highest concentration of Retinol SA available. Brightens skin tone, smooths and reduces wrinkles."
The one thing i noticed dramatically is that it made the texture of my skin amazing. My skin definitely felt so smooth and soft right away. This is definitely a good starter product to anti-aging if you don't want to spend a lot. I also want to learn more about the best night creams and formulas before I invest in the expensive stuff. It made my skin brighter since it has a chemical type of exfoliant in the product. It is lightweight and I like to massage it (gently) into my skin.
What are your favorite night creams? Have you tried Retinol yet?

Dress from boutique in France similar here and this one's on sale, Anthropologie hat, Steve Madden Sandals, Anthropologie Cross body Bag, Nordstrom's Earrings.
It's pouring rain here in Chicago, but these photos are from my trip to France from earlier this summer. I bought this dress at a boutique there but the look is easy to do. As you know I'm a sucker for maxi dresses and form fitting ones show off curves.
The hat I'm wearing is Woven Trim Rancher from Anthropologie. I bought it before my trip to Europe and wore it on the plane haha! Had to save space I packed so many outfits! Another option I like for fall is this Sienna Floppy Hat.
Have a nice Saturday loves! Follow my Bombshell friend I would so rock this and join our link up party!

Farrah Fawcett knows all about being a bombshell. Rocking a bikini is one thing but owning your inner beach babe in a one piece is a whole other level of confidence and grace. Emmy's tip: pull your hair up into a high ponytail or throw on some aviators.

James Franco is straight up sexy but there are other things guys do that is hot. Let's start with the basics: Don't be into yourself, don't wear a lot of cologne, don't check out other girls in front of us, don't be a brat, do hold doors, and give compliments when we least expect it.

I am going to France in a few days to study abroad and I am so excited! I keep mentally planning my outfits and I had to buy some new pieces to wear when I am there. Anthropologie is my all time favorite store, I wear something from there almost every day haha so I stopped into their sale and bought this hat which I think will be perfect for Europe! I love the white with the woven accents- so gorgeous and luxurious. This modern and bright tunic is going to be worn as a dress. Haha I tried it on and I think my butt is in the clear! You can also wear it over white denim or dark denim as a tunic. A French Phrasebook is a must have- it has a dictionary and phrases with pronunciation-so helpful! My mom and I were flipping through it and some of the phrases were like "Where can i get a bikini wax?" I think the author knows me too well.
Anyways, what are you treating yourself to this weekend?
Over 800 items at 50% off! Is this real life?! Come on I know you love Anthro.

Mixing printed fabric doesn't have to be thought of as mixing oil and water. Style is a reflection of self so show off your creative and sharp mind by mastering the art of mixing prints. This post serves as an inspiration for you to be brave and creative. I put together some outfits with rich colors and eye catching prints that I think you will like!

See my wedges? I love mixing in straw and cream shoes or bags to help ground your fun prints. It's cuter than just a basic leather shoe and has character!
Try: A suave hat or woven clutch.

Keep inspiring each other! :)
