Motivation + Greek Yogurt Cookie Dough (Gluten Free)

Sunday, June 8, 2014

Motivating yourself is like bathing-you have to do it every day! Motivation requires constant upkeep and care-keep watering your inner garden.

Anyways just had to get that out of my system and share with you. Fueling you fuels me.

Speaking of fuel....

This gluten free cookie dough greek yogurt recipe is as yummy as it looks. Best part is that you can just mix the yogurt, vanilla, and honey together in the yogurt container!
I was searching for yummy and healthy treats (oxymoron right?!) but I think this pretty much hit the nail on the head. Thanks 5 foot 7 always happy to find new sources for inspiration!

Have a yummy breakfast and beautiful morning. I'm working on a DIY project then shooting some outfits tonight :) Stay tuned

Get What You Want- Stay on Track

Monday, May 26, 2014

You and I are both alike in that we have overwhelming goals. I started summer class last week (yuck) and my campus is deserted- all of my friends left for the year. I was feeling like a lost cause and not knowing what to do. I am the type of person who always has to be working towards things- I don't even watch T.V ( i feel guilty just sitting).

Sometimes you get out of funk and lose momentum. It's normal- but instead of letting it pass, I want to make sure I am keeping my finger on the pulse of what I am going after and being proactive.

If you really want to go after your dreams you have to put yourself in the best position. I think of an airplane getting ready for take-off. There is maintenance to be done to the plane before it can fly and you have to get rid of any dangers that could cause it to crash.

Your distractions and bad habits will hinder you from getting to where you want to be. You also have to be an advocate for yourself and aggressive. Whenever I think I am working hard, something comes along and reminds me I can be working even harder.

(Sorry, tough love works with me)

Ask yourself....

1. What's distracting you? Or WHO is distracting you? Is it good for you or does it make you feel worse?

(Okay, so this is silly but I felt like the past week I was getting distracted with boys. I kept texting, taking pictures, and wanting to cuddle (grossssss) and then this morning I was like "EMMY- you gotta stop-this isn't you and you're just bored." ) I also promised myself I would remain single until I felt I had accomplished more.

(^^See, like what a waste of time)

2. Are you keeping a routine?

Even if there is no point- successful people develop a disciplined routine. I like to wake up early and workout, clean, and plan my day. This confidence and self discipline will help you remain on track with your goals.

3. What do you want?

One of my favorite phrases is "be intentional" meaning to do everything with purpose that comes from within. Basically, do all things with passion.

I think getting off track of your goals can be a good thing- it snaps you out of bad habits and distractions and allows you to evaluate yourself and your plan even more.

My parents always tell me I am the most determined person they know-and it's definitely one of my favorite qualities. But being driven doesn't last unless you motivate yourself daily (it's like showering- you have to keep doing it to stay refreshed!).

Morning routine

Monday, January 20, 2014

I am a morning person! So obnoxious I know! But I do love to be awake before everyone else and get a head start.

The way you start your day can make it or break it.

1.) Decide to be happy. That's an easy one. But you have to really mean it! But being grumpy is not a good look, and also complaining is not an answer...if you don't like something then change it!

2.) Sweat it out and release endorphins through exercise. I workout right when I get up, no makeup, no breakfast, I just hit the gym and go hard before my body realizes whats going on. I also feel amazing after a morning workout as opposed to one later in the day. Also you burn more calories if you eat after your workout .

3.) Reflect...Gain clarity about your life, some people pray, I personally just think while I am working out and try to pump myself up. I think about my goals and ask myself what can I do differently today. I try to always outdo myself and do more than I did yesterday.

4.) Planning. Time management is something I feel I can always use guidance on. I try to prioritize my tasks by what will have the best outcome, and also school always comes first.

I am a clean eater so after my workout I will have fresh fruit, oatmeal, or eggs. I drink green tea or grapefruit juice and a glass of water with lemon( I don't like coffee!) Eating healthy is something to feel proud about so celebrate your victories (no matter how small they may be) throughout the day!

Also, I am excited about 2014. I know it is already day 20 but I think it will be an amazing year for all of us! Just keep working at whatever it is you need to improve on. Everything get's better if you keep at it! And focus on your "why" or purpose (whatever excites or fulfills you). Do something every day to get you closer to your goal/dream.

And lastly...Life is supposed to be fun!
Okay I am off to bed xoxo, Goodnight loves.

Furever ever?

I recently bought this All Saints sweater  before a date with a pro basketball player. I went in to All Saints to buy a dress and came out with a classic and effortless chic sweater (plus its super soft). Sometimes you have to dress-down for a date...make them work for the heels and dress ensemble!

I got this fur coat at Saks and never wore it until today! I sort of don't mind that it is so big on me-it keeps me warm! I am so excited for spring weather!
